Leap is improving its login system to become more scalable for the future. We will be doing a migration on Monday, January 19, to implement some changes. Please read this message carefully to understand what’s changing.

What impact will I see?
- This migration only applies to users who are using Leap’s Partner Portal, as well as API users that use JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) to authenticate using Leap’s /v1.1/login endpoint.
- Partners who are integrated against Leap’s API with API keys are unaffected by this migration.

What’s changing?
- You can use a single login for the staging and production environments moving forward. If you currently have different passwords for both environments, you can use your production password for both environments after the migration is done. As a result of this, you won’t be able to manage user accounts through the staging Partner Portal anymore.
- The migration will be seamless - there is no need to change your password for the production environment. Your user account will be migrated over automatically when you login, regardless of whether you use Leap’s login page or the /v1.1/login API endpoint. No action is required from your side.
- Leap’s login page will have a modern look with more consistent Leap branding.
- The email from which account invitations and password resets come, will change from account-verification@notifications.leap.energy to invitations@leap.energy

Using Leap’s API? Prepare for some error messages
If you’re using JWTs to authenticate against Leap’s API, there might be a small time window of approximately 15 minutes in which you might see a few 401, 403 or 5xx responses coming from Leap’s API. Normal operations will resume when the migration is done.
